Your baby is ready to start solid food - or they have been eating solids for a while now - how do you know how much food your baby should eat? In a time when the majority of Americans are overweight, portion size for everyone from babies to adults has come into question. How much food is enough? How much is too much?

Generally speaking, you should let your baby's appetite be the guide. Under normal circumstances babies will choose to eat the amount of food they need. If you offer a variety of healthy foods, most of the time your baby will eat the right amount. For beginning eaters, around 6 months, this may be only a few teaspoons of food at each meal. For older babies and toddlers, the proper portion size is a couple of tablespoons for each food.

This does not sound like a lot of food, but remember that your baby is very small. For babies from 6-12 months, the majority of their calories should come from breast milk or formula. At this age they simply can't eat enough real food to meet the needs of their rapidly growing bodies. Don't push them to eat more than they are comfortable eating. This can lead them into a lifetime of ignoring the natural cues to stop eating when they are full. Unless your doctor has concerns about their growth - let them eat at their own pace.

Once your little one is reliably eating a variety of foods, they will likely graduate to eating about 4 ounces of food at each meal. Again, don't push. Just offer different healthy foods and let their natural appetite and body cycles control their eating.

It is especially important at this age to offer healthy foods. The tastes your baby becomes accustomed to now will dictate what they will like to eat for the rest of their lives. If they are eating whole grain bread and cereal, fruits, vegetables, and other whole foods they will develop a taste for delicious healthy foods. If they are eating nutritionally bankrupt foods like white bread, sugary cereals, fried foods and desserts - they will crave these foods as they grow into adulthood. What you feed your child today could literally shape their entire future.

Eating healthy doesn't have to be expensive - and you don't have to buy commercial baby food. You can buy unsalted canned vegetables or steam your own and mash them for baby. Cook oatmeal or other whole grain cereal and blend it for a smoother texture. A jar of unsweetened apple sauce can feed your baby - with plenty for the rest of the family. Remember, your example is going to impress your child more than anything you say to them. Don't expect your little one to accept strained spinach if you are downing doughnuts.

Limit the amount of juice your child drinks. The American Academy of Pediatricians suggests that toddlers and preschoolers have no more than 2-4 ounces of juice per day. Juice is mostly empty calories with very little nutrition. Instead, encourage them to drink water with just a splash of juice for flavor. Never give a baby soda - the corn syrup, dyes, and even caffeine in most sodas are just not good for their bodies or their teeth. Artificial sweeteners are not any better for them - and some might be dangerous.

Letting your baby choose from a rainbow of healthy foods will let them choose healthy portion sizes on their own. They will be healthier for it - and less likely to join the ranks of the obesity epidemic.

I love everything about coffee: coffee, iced coffee, coffee ice cream, sweet to the taste of coffee. The only thing I do not like it's not coffee, is what days are now charging for a cup! You can save up to $ 5.00 for a specialty coffee. I know. I did it and probably do it again and again and again. Why? Because I love coffee.

Luckily I work from home and 95% of the time my coffee. I am very picky about the purchase of coffee, which I did. I tend to stick with Starbucks andDunkin Donuts brand coffee when they go on sale, and I have good. I'm so happy not to work from home, because I know I am among those who go through the drive-through for my cup of coffee almost every day. I know!

I came across some facts to those that go through the drive-through often:

1 The people buy coffee primarily at drive through windows on the way to work, spend up to 45 hours a year waitingline.

2 The average person who buys coffee outside the office at work to spend the equivalent of a roundtrip ticket to Florida every year.

WOW! Can you believe it? Thank God, I do my coffee at home! Can I drink coffee all day every day. However, if it's 100 degrees outside, a cup of hot coffee just does not sound interesting to me, so I decided to watch a couple of recipes for the summer coffee is Starbucks every day is definitely not an optionfor me. I do not have the time nor the money to spend will get through a drive-through for a good cup of coffee! I also want control over what I put in my coffee, I try to get back on calories am. Did you watch the calories contained in some of these drinks?

Note: You can use all the syrup at Starbucks specialty drinks always buy Starbucks Store! You can also go online and order DaVinci Gourmet Syrup only $ 7.99 per bottle. DaVinci syrups are notCalories, and are free of sugar! I have repeatedly DaVinci syrup for work, but have had no luck. The odds are better than me, but if you can not go online. Iced coffee:

1 Start with a delicious rich coffee.

2 You can make your coffee or cool off in advance, even if I only fill my glass with ice and pour the hot coffeeworks great!

3 cream and sugar or sugar substitute. You can also try with a little 'syrup. We also tried sugar-free sweetener syrup pancakes because we went out and tasted great!

Coffee Popsicles:

Mix the coffee the way you like and freeze. You can use a popsicle molds or ice cubes. You can also ice cubes in the iced coffee!

Caramel Macchiato:

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons vanilla syrup
1 / 2 cup of freshly brewed coffee (youhave to have an espresso machine.)
8 oz hot milk (which actually do not need an espresso machine for making hot milk. You see, like milk steam here!)
3-4 tablespoons of caramel sauce or caramel syrup

Instructions
Add the vanilla syrup to 16 ounces of glass.
Add the hot milk and caramel sauce / syrup and mix well.

Coffee Frappe:
Ingredients:
18 -22 Ice cubes, crushed
7 oz Double strength coffee, chilled
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2Tablespoons of syrup of choice (vanilla, hazelnut, raspberry or other)

Whipped cream

Java Chip Frappuccino:
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons chocolate syrup
4 tablespoons chocolate chips (you can cut pieces of sugar-free chocolate substitute)
4 cups double-strength freshly brewed coffee dark roast
Crushed ice or crushed
Whipped cream (optional)
Chocolate syrup (for drizzle, optional)

Fill blender half full with crushed ice or crushed. Add AllIngredients (except cream) and blend until thick and even ice. Pour into 4 tall glasses, top with whipped cream and chocolate, fold wire over the whipped cream.

Mocha Frappe:
Instructions:
Fill blender half full with crushed ice or crushed. Mix all ingredients (except cream) and blend until thick and even ice. Pour into 4 tall glasses, top with whipped cream and chocolate, fold wire over the whipped cream.

Instructions
Put the ice cream, coffee, sugar and syrupenter into a mixer. Blend until the frappe is smooth. Pour into a large glass top. Garnish with whipped cream.

Java Float:
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 tablespoon chocolate chips (sugar-free chocolate substitute as above)
2 cups club soda or sparkling water, chilled
4 scoops coffee ice cream (try the ice cream sugar-free or low-carb)

Instructions

In 2 large glasses, mix 2 tbsp. Chocolate syrup and 1 cup of soda club.Place 2 scoops of ice cream in each glass and serve immediately.
